HEY TUMBLR! I need your help. A lovely co-worker of mine started looking after this cat a few months ago. He was living on the street and she eventually coaxed him inside. She calls him Toby. She took him to the vet to be examned and unfortuantely, he has feline leukemia. But lots of cats with this illness can lead long and happy lives. Unfortunately, she already has a cat and cannot risk it being spread to her first kitty. Which is a real shame, as she has told me what a huge sweetheart he is.

He has been living in her basement, separated from the other cat. She is moving and now needs to find someone who can care for him!
I recommended she get in touch with Toronto Cat Rescue as it is a great program but it is kitten season and they are totally swamped. She is going to be bringing him into a shelter at the end of the month and that really worries me, as cats with such an illness have a very low adoption rate.

So if you live in Toronto, the GTA or somewhere close enough to consider getting here, please contact me! I would love to find Toby a permanent forever home and I know tumblr is full of wonderful animal lovers. Reblog this in hopes of spreading it to more Ontario-Canadians. Thank you!

This is my fifteen year old sister, Hannah. She has a cyst on her pineal gland, which is in the middle of her brain. (From what I understand, a cyst is like a tumor but filled with liquid.) We’ve known about it for about two years, and it constantly gives her horrific headaches, that can last weeks. Her vision is getting very bad because of it too, and so is her quality of life, she’s started fainting and had a couple seizures recently. Just last week we had a Skype conference with one of the two neurosurgeons, in the world, who would potentially perform the surgery to remove it. (A lot of people have trouble getting this surgery approved, but because Hannah’s is one of the largest cysts in one of the youngest patients, it was approved.) Praise God. The surgery will take place in June, but only if we can pay the $50,000. We really need help raising this money.
